Dr. Khosla completed his medical degree and Ophthalmology residency training in India with a fellowship in vitro retinal from the reputed Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation in Chennai, India, home of the largest, busiest and best-equipped retina units in South East Asia. Here he underwent a vitro retinal clinical fellowship training in diagnosis, management and surgery of retina and vitreous. This included FFA, lasers and ultrasonography. He later did his visitor fellowships in retina at top institutes in the United States of America.
Dr. Khosla has been an ophthalmologist (eye specialist) since 1988, having worked at the best institutes in Asia and Middle East. He now offers comprehensive ophthalmological services in Calgary including consultations, diagnostics, minor operative procedures and laser eye surgeries.
He is currently a member of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, the Eye Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and is a participant in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada’s MOC Program, which is a continuing professional development program that supports the lifelong learning needs of healthcare professionals.
In September of 1998, Dr. Khosla received the Distinguished Scientist award presented by the Academy of Medical Sciences in India for eminence in the field of ophthalmology. The previous year he was awarded the title of Best Scientific Paper at the All India Ophthalmology Society Conference in New Delhi for his paper titled “Retinotomies of 180 or more.”
“Touching lives through service” has indeed been a motto of Dr. Khosla. He has been a volunteer with the Sri Sathya Sai Organizations since his school times (starting in 1972) and continues to associate with various other charitable organizations in Canada and India. He is committed to educating his patients and giving best professional, personalized, and compassionate care with an emphasis on safety.
