Ophthalmic examination, diagnostics, and assisting treatment procedures and along with clerical, front desk, and administrative functions
Tasks :
- Ophthalmic work up / patient screening/testing, History, Visual Acuity including EDTRS, Low vision assessment, IOP Assessment, Color Vision, Instilling drops, etc.
- Accurately performing diagnostic testing: Fundus Photography, VF, Micro perimetry, OCT, Macular Integrity assessments, B Scan, UBM, Digital Fundus photography, PAM, ERG, Dry Eye Diagnostics, Contrast Sensitivity testing, Digital Gonioscopy.
- Assisting in dry eye treatments, lasers, ocular aesthetics, and other office minor procedures
- Communicating with patients and other healthcare professionals, front desk duties
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of previous experience as an ophthalmic assistant/technician
- Completion of your AAO/COA is an asset;

- Manage Inventory. Replace any materials/ spares for equipment / consumables / disposables (when needed or instructed)
- Buy and keep a stock of all sales items
- Manage point of sales accounts
- Manage accounts for all regular clinic expenses and make payments on time
- Keep a track record of payments for different doctors under different heads
- Deal with insurance companies and collect claims

Job Description
General Purpose
Attend to patients on the phone and in person. Coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and support the delivery of quality patient care.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
- greet patients
- register patients according to established protocols
- assist patients in completing all necessary forms and documentation, including medical insurance
- ensure patient information is accurate, including billing information
- inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
- maintain and manage patient records
- move patients through appointments as scheduled
- answer incoming calls and deal with inquiries
- transfer calls as required
- schedule patient appointments
- collect co-pays and payments
- report statistics as required
- schedule outside appointments for patients
- obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
- respond and comply with requests for information
- deal with incoming and outgoing post
- complete other clerical duties as assigned
- maintain stock of forms and office supplies
- ensure the reception area is well maintained, neat, and clean
- safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
