Ophthalmic Assistant / Tech

Job Description

Ophthalmic testing procedures and initial patient examinations along with clerical and administrative functions

Tasks:-

  • Ophthalmic work up / patient screening/testing, History, Visual Acuity, IOP Assessment, Colour Vision, Instilling drops, etc.
  • Accurately performing diagnostic testing: VF, Microperimetry, OCT, Macular Integrity assessments, B Scan, UBM, Digital Fundus photography, ERG, Dry Eye Diagnostics, Contrast Sensitivity testing, and assisting refractions
  • Communicating with patients and other healthcare professionals

Qualifications:

2+ years of previous experience as an ophthalmic assistant/technician Completion of your AAO/COA is an asset;

Receptionist Front Desk

Job Description

General Purpose

Attend to patients on the phone and in person. Coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and support the delivery of quality patient care.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • greet patients
  • register patients according to established protocols
  • assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance
  • ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
  • inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
  • maintain and manage patient records
  • move patients through appointments as scheduled
  • answer incoming calls and deal with inquiries
  • transfer calls as required
  • schedule patient appointments
  • collect co-pays and payments
  • report statistics as required
  • schedule outside appointments for patients
  • obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
  • respond and comply to requests for information
  • deal with incoming and outgoing post
  • complete other clerical duties as assigned
  • maintain stock of forms and office supplies
  • ensure the reception area is well maintained, neat, and clean
  • safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality

Public Relations Executive

Job Description

Public relations officers in health care settings are responsible for maintaining the desired image of a health care facility in the public eye. Voluntary positions are also available for those looking to volunteer to help or those who would want to pursue careers in Ophthalmology/optometry in the near future or get trained to be  eligible for JHAPCO certification

Volunteers completing the tenure may be eligible for employment opportunities dependent on the requirement and their performance.
